Cement Price Guide Nepal 2026: PPC vs OPC vs PSC
How to choose the right cement grade for your Nepal construction project and what drives price differences.
Cement is one of the largest line items in any Nepali construction budget, and the wrong grade can cost more in the long run than the price difference on the bag.
PPC (Portland Pozzolana Cement)
The default choice for most residential work in Nepal — lower heat of hydration, good workability, and widely available from Nepali and Indian brands at competitive rates.
OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement)
Higher early strength, preferred for precast elements and RCC work needing faster formwork turnover, but costs slightly more per bag.
PSC (Portland Slag Cement)
Best for foundations and structures exposed to sulphate-rich soil or moisture, common in Tarai regions.
Buying tips
Always check the manufacturing date (cement loses ~20% strength after 3 months of storage), buy from vendors with proper stock rotation, and compare per-bag price against NS certification, not just brand name.
